When a crime occurs that involves firearms, recovering the firearm, bullets or cartridge cases can be very important for the investigation. This evidence can assist in establishing if a crime was committed, to link a firearm to either the victim or the suspect, and to reconstruct a scene. The investigating team usually includes law enforcement personnel and firearms and toolmark examiner. They will testify about the firearm, bullets, cartridge cases, ejection patterns, and even gunshot residue, among other topics. We believe that by using the terms repeatedly in different contexts, we can easily memorize them. We do this by using videos, professionally recorded audio, and different forms from actual cases involving Firearms.
