Become a Court Interpreter
Are you fluent in both English and Spanish?
Have you had to interpret for a family member or friend before?
Have you thought about changing professions or becoming your own boss?
Would you like to do something meaningful for your community?
Do you love True Crime shows and Podcasts?
Have you ever considered becoming a Judiciary Interpreter?Â
Everyday thousands of people with Limited English Proficiency go to court and need the help of an interpreter. The need for interpreters is great, and criminal courts, civil and family courts, immigration courts, and administrative hearings, are constantly looking to hire the services of qualified interpreters.
At GSO Services we realize that the options available to train as an English<>Spanish Judiciary Interpreter are limited, costly and outdated.
This very dynamic course includes 24 professionally recorded audio tracks and 12 texts of real cases, to practice your interpretation skills.
It also includes a chapter on language to learn legal equivalents for slang, expletives, sayings, and idiomatic expressions.
This course uses different media, including video, excerpts of podcasts, audiobooks and Ted Talks, illustrations, and games.
This course is the result of many years of working in the criminal justice system, training interpreters, and preparing aspiring interpreters to obtain Certification.
Upon sign-up, we will mail a 240 page Workbook.
The course includes 12 Simultaneous, 12 Consecutive, and 12 Sight Interpretation exercises.
Please note that we no longer send thumb drives with course materials. Although we always purchased high-quality drives, we found that some arrived defective or could not be read by certain computers. Discontinuing them also allows us to keep course costs down. All materials—including the videos that were never included on the thumb drives—are now available for download directly from the platform.

Vaya! por fin! Something current. Materials out there are so outdated. You use podcasts, and TED talks, and even songs like the Chilanga Banda, hahaha. I have a much better understanding of the whole court system, state and federal! Your audio is of great quality, with so many different voices and accents. I feel I learned a whole new skill. I'm ready to be in a courtroom and pass my certification exam! I love your course so much. Thank you!

"I'm using your course to prepare for the FCICE Exam. I've taken other courses, and this is way more complete. Thank you for the Lesson on Federal Crimes, that will be especially helpful. I will definitely purchase your other courses."
